I got to meet Dan Keyes of Young Love at a party (photos here) in DC a few weeks ago and when he told me his band would be back in town playing the following week, I told him I’d bring my camera. I checked out the some songs online when I got home, and was instantly roped in by their dancy pop tune Discotech. Young Love had just finished a sold out club tour supporting Good Charlotte and are now currently on the road with Lady Sovereign. The crowd was pretty sparse for Young Love’s 6:30pm set, but they had the full attention of the room for their 45 minutes on stage. Dan Keyes easily commanded the crowd with his strong vocals and energetic performance. Their record comes out in late January but expect their single to hit the radio before that. This won’t be the last you hear about Young Love and the next time they come to town I doubt they’ll be the opening band…
